1. Hi Anne! Thank you for this interview, it’s a pleasure to get to know you better. Our first question is: could you describe the key milestones and learnings that have shaped your professional journey?
All my key milestones have been linked to major role changes, but also to key people and mentors who supported my growth journey.
The first one was moving from an engineering role to a marketing one. I had to transform what I was getting as technical requests and various information from customers to trends and needs in order to develop a completely new product launch.
The second one was moving from a single contributor to a management role. That one was, I must admit, painful, as it coincided with changing company. Asking for help and seeking additional training, including coaching and mentoring, significantly helped me to overcome some of the challenges I was facing at that time. It allowed me to grow much faster and far more efficiently.
The third one was moving from a regional to a global role and having to interact with general managers from across the globe to align strategies for specific customers. Dealing with different cultures and business approaches was a constant learning experience for me.
And the last one was moving from an industry I had been part of for more than 25 years to the one at De Nora. Here again, everything was brand new and suddenly people that used to be my suppliers became my customers, and my strong technical background felt far less relevant.
2. What are your mission and expectations in your role, and what do you see as the main challenges in the coming months?
My mission for the coming months is to establish a solid and sustainable sales team within the region with both a short-term tactical approach and a mid-term more strategical plan.
That means continuing to build on the very strong knowledge and experience the current team has and while leveraging on new potential talents.
3. How will your previous experiences influence your approach to leading EMEIA Sales?
My combined experiences in sales and marketing will definitely help in having the right balance between tactical and semi-strategical perspectives.
The other aspect is also the focus on people development and growth which has been a huge focus in my previous role and something that I want to continue.
I think it is my way to give back to others all the support in time, coaching and mentoring I had throughout the past year.
4. Which values do you consider essential to guide the team and drive growth in De Nora?
For me the diversity is what is bringing our strength in anything we are doing.
So I will continue to build on that aspect by making sure we have in the team people with different background, profile and aspirations.
